According to an article in the INSTYLE section of the WEEKEND magazine of Khaleej Times, the oversized retro look, which was so hugely popular in 2006 is strong again this year too but in more softer, curvaceous shapes and with warm and natural colours dominating – brown or reds such as maroon.
Ofcourse large lenses are not just fashionable – they protect the eyes more effectively from harmful ultraviolet rays than their smaller counterparts. Some designers believe that a lot of customers are looking for the minimal look but there is always room for glamour and Bulgari could just fit the bill with sides bedecked with gemstones.
Another interesting development in the field of sunglasses is that Luxottica Group, the world’s biggest maker of eyeglasses, and owners of the Ray-Ban and Ralph Lauren brands among others, are buying the Oakley brand too. Oakley is big in sports sunglasses and has the Bright Eyes and Sunglass Icon stores which will be now be added to the LensCrafters and Pearle Vision reatil chains owned by Luxottica.
So this summer get your new shades and look cool!!
