New-Look Logo of Bait Al Ahlam

KR Infrastructure Group offices relocated to this new location

Having carved a niche for itself among the minds of the most discerning customers, by offering some of the world’s best solutions to turn their “dream home” and “dream office” into a reality, Bait Al Ahlam has expanded from one showroom in 2003, to six in 2008. At present, the other outlets are in Al Khuwair, Al Khoud , Sohar and Salalah and the one in Al Ghubra is to open very shortly.

With an area of 3500 sq. m spread across 4 floors, the bigger and plush Bait Al Ahlam flagship store in MBD continues to showcase an eclectic range of home and office furniture, a premium range of air-conditioners, a wide array of modern kitchen appliances, an amazing assortment of flooring tiles & building materials and a glamorous line up of bathroom accessories & sanitary ware and lighting fixtures along with the painting solutions, bringing choice, value and convenience all under one roof.
The showroom’s layout and its new state- of- the-art display have also been strategically designed to facilitate comfortable and convenient shopping experience for the customers.

The launch of the new showroom is also timed with a redesigning of the Bait Al Ahlam Logo. The new logo uses the metaphor of a tree, a symbol of life and bounty, blossoming and ever-flowering, and is graphically depicted and rendered by the contemporary motif created by sections of continuous lines; dynamic yet subtle it holds the promise of a wealth of choice under one umbrella – Bait Al Ahlam.

Professor Chris Griffith, PhD

Recipient of Several International Research Awards in “Food Safety Management System” Professor Chris Griffith will deliver a one day seminar on “HACCP in Hospitality, Catering and Retail Industry” on 25th October 2008 at Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort.

Khimji Training Institute LLC, a  Registered RIPH (Royal Institute of Public Health) U.K, training centre has taken the initiative of organising this one day seminar keeping in mind the seriousness with which Oman treats the issue of Food Safety

This seminar will educate attendees on research comparing different food safety models based upon HACCP principles and review their strengths and weaknesses. For food to be produced safely and consistently such approaches need to be introduced as part of a structured approach with Industry and Government working together.

Given the increasingly high cost and financial penalties associated with food poisoning, and its implications for tourism, participation will be beneficial to anyone with a management or supervisory role in any sector of the food industry.

They have lived up to their mission of being Friendly Neighbourhood Stores in not only the capital but also in the smaller towns across the country.

In Samsonite’s Shoes

23 10 2008

The world’s leading travelling solutions company has transformed itself from a luggage ware comapny to a travel style/ accessories comapny today. With a lot of panache its also stepping into the world of shoes – since footwear also falls into the accessories segment that makes your travel so much more comfortable. An interesting fact shared with us by the visiting COO of Samsonite (West & South Asia), Subrata Datta, was that Samsonite shoes can expand or contract by almost 7mm to accomodate the natural swelling of feet after a hard day at work or a long haul flight. No need to remove shoes to bring relief to those sore aching feet and no more fighting to get back into them in case you do decide to take them off. What a load off one’s feet, dont you think so too?

Incidentally Samsonite has tied up with Timberland and Lacoste as well for aan array of products aimed squarely at the youth. It has in its kitty, the ultra premium and luxury brand Samsonite Black Label and a mid premium brand called American Tourister as well. www.samsonite.com. The new thinking has been to engage the market through the stand-alone Samsonite stores – we have one in Muscat too at the City Centre while our Khimji’s Luxury and Lifestyle stores in Ruwi, MQ and Qurum (under renovation which will have a complete floor for Samsonite) have large areas demarcated for the ever expanding range.
