Khimji Ramdas Luxury & Lifestyle division was awarded certificate of Excellence by Groupe Seb Area Director Mr.Romain Duron at a function held at Dubai recently.

 

The certificate of Excellence was awarded for the outstanding Moulinex in-store activities conducted by Khimji Ramdas throughout Oman during the last Ramadan season.This is the third consecutive time Khimji Ramdas is awarded with the certificate of Excellence for various market related activities.

Over 140,000 Fake Ray-Ban Sunglasses seized in UAE

Luxottica Group S.p.A. www.luxottica.com the world’s leading designer, manufacturer, distributor and retailer of premium and luxury eyewear welcomed today with great satisfaction the final order issued by the Consumer Protection Center of the Sharjah’s emirate (United Arab Emirates) to destroy 143,700 counterfeited Ray-Ban sunglasses, found during a raid action at the local China Optical Center distributor.

 

The distributor was also obligated to pay a fine of US$4,000, and according to the UAE Trademark law, should the distributor be caught again in the trade of counterfeit product it risks enforced closing of its business activity for up to 6 months.

Oman Brand Logo (of the nation) Launched Yesterday

I was priveleged to attend the historic launch of the national LOGO of Brand ‘OMAN’ – the country. Developing a national brand helps promote  a positive image and acts as shortcut to understanding the unique assets the country has to offer. This will be the unifying identity for the sectors of tourism, IT, education and business & investment.

oman-brand-mark1Taking its inspiration from the wonderful diversity that is Oman – amongst other things, Arabic calligraphy; marine environment; local textiles; the magnificent landscape; the sultanate’s historic leadership in trade and pioneering role in exploration; and of course frankincense, which has been at the core of its culture and economy for generations.  The bold brand mark is a mélange of the best Oman has to offer.

 

To be more specific and looking at the symbol from right to left the dhow (in purple), the turtle and rich marine life (in marine green), the silhouettes of the mountains (in light blue) and the incense smoke (in light green).

 

The four primary colours chosen for the brand mark are: Dawn Purple, Sky Blue, Salalah Green and Musandam Aqua Marine Green.

 

The green and blue refer to natural growth.  The lighter blue and green were selected as young vibrant energetic colours, and refer to natural growth.  The aqua marine green links back to the marine life.  The purple refers to majesty.

Incidentally the whole venue at the Al Bustan wa swathed in these colours of the logo giving a very surreal feel to the ambience.

I believe  now the Tourism Ministry will take on from here and launch the specific tourism slogan and logo incorporating the Oman brand mark in it. Exciting to witness a new phase of maturity of a nation on the move!

This is a part of an ongoing support to Special Olympics for the Differently Abled in the Middle East & North Africa.
