Food safety seminar by Khimji Training Institute on March 02, 2011

KTI and Muscat Municipality will conduct a one day seminar on “Managing Food Safety in 2011- 5 Key things you should know” by Dr. Chris Griffith on 2nd March, 2011 at Crowne Plaza, Muscat.

International research award winner, Professor Chris Griffith from Cardiff School of Health Science, University of Wales Institute will be the key speaker for the day. He is also the Consultant & Trainer for Food Control Section of Dubai Municipality. This seminar will add value to all Hotels, Restaurants and Managers involved in food related industry. 

The highlight of the seminar will be on the increasing importance of managing food safety for the sustainability & profitability of the food related industries.  Professor Chris will also familiarize the audience with 5 key things one should know to manage food safety efficiently. This interactive seminar will be conducted for the 3rd consecutive time in association with Muscat Municipality.

Ministry of Manpower & KR Champion the 2020 Vision of the Nation to nurture Nationals in Managerial Cadre

8 months ago, under the aegis of the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Khimji Ramdas started-off its campaign for recruiting and training the first batch of Nationals selected from higher educational colleges in Oman, to be placed in the Managerial Cadre at Khimji’s Mart.

Today, the task has been accomplished. 13 National candidates who were selected as Assistant Manager designates will now go on-the-job playing a vital role in managing Khimji’s Mart Supermarkets across Oman.

 H.E. Sayyid Hamad bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Undersecretary – Labour Affairs, awarded the certificates to the Assistant Managers from Khimji’s Mart at the Al Bustan Palace Hotel.

His Excellency, handed over the new training curriculum to the second batch of 23 Nationals from higher educational colleges in Oman, of whom shall be palced as management trainees at KR-INFRA Group.

Ministry of Manpower Fully Supports Khimji Training Institute in training Nationals for Managerial Cadre


H. E. Hamad bin Khamis Al Amiri Undersecretary Ministry of Manpower inaugurated the first batch of Management Training Program of Nationals for Khimji Ramdas divisions. 

Over 1000 National students from various disciplines across higher education colleges in Oman were chosen for managerial level training with Khimji’s Mart. The selected colleges include Sultan Qaboos University, Ibra College, Mussana College, Sur College, Majan College and Muscat College spread across different regions of the Sultanate. 

On successful completion of the training the trainees will be inducted as Assistant Managers in Khimji’s Mart, the retail division of Khimji Ramdas.

Khimji’s Watches, is soon to relocate from its Ruwi (ROLEX) showroom to its Anchor Showroom at Shatti Al Qurum in the first week of August.

Following this welcoming news, Khimji Training Institute organised a special 2 day Seminar on Brand Management in Luxury Goods conducted by Chevrier Watch Academy Switzerland  at Grand Hyatt, Muscat on July 10th & 11th, 2009.

Mr. Jean-François Chèvre, from Switzerland, a specialist in brand management, design production, distribution and marketing of Luxury goods conducted this special seminar for all the sales executives and managers of Khimji’s Watches; which has now in preparation for its movement into larger world-class premises, added a new high-end range of jewellery, accessories and sunglasses to its already existing array of global brands of watches. Some of the sales executives of Khimji’s Luxury & Lifestyle also joined in for a day, to benefit from the vast experience of the trainer in the Luxury Segment.

This interactive seminar on the first day focused on a brief Introduction to Luxury Goods including Perfumes , Cosmetics and Sunglasses. Following the introduction, he discussed topics on Management & Leadership styles for Salesmanship correlating it with role plays in which most of the employees actively participated.

The exhaustive day- one seminar was followed by an introduction to the Watch Industry with highlights on Major International Watch Groups and Export Markets including topics on Watch Development, Display & Merchandising & Quality Sales Attitude, Behaviour and techniques  

These fun-filled interactive educational sessions were followed by live demo sessions on Selling of High-end watch brands for the employees in the showroom.
